By considering music education for your child at an early age, you have taken a first step toward bonding musically with your child and enriching your family life with active music-making. JoyNotes Music Studio features the Musikgarten curriculum, a unique program of music and movement for young children which nurtures their musical aptitude, enjoyment and understanding in a developmentally appropriate sequence.

Why Movement?

Young children grow and develop as human beings in a "doing" environment. Movement should be a part of all experiences for children, for it is their natural mode of being, expression and learning. Moving to music and simple rhythmic songs comes naturally to young children. It energizes them and helps integrate sensory-motor experiences. Sensory-motor exploration forms and sustains their intellectual life. Children are intensely focused on the assimilation of everything around through the channels of the senses: sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell. Music and movement can:

Why Music classes?

Music activities are ideal for your growing child. They promote the child's natural development in a fun and interactive manner. They help to attune the ear, refine the voice, and develop a rhythmic body through which music can be expressed. Additionally, instrumental activities are part of the program, and utilize simple rhythm instruments such as sticks and drums as well as jingles, shakers, sandblocks, and scarves. Why Early Childhood?

All children are born with an aptitude for music, but that aptitude diminishes if it is not actively nurtured between the ages of birth and nine.The classes offered at JoyNotes Music Studio are designed to nurture the child's music aptitude by engaging children and their families in singing and movement activities. Young children delight in making music with their hands and voices, exploring body movements, and celebrating this fun with the adults in their lives.
